I've decided to go with a pink background for now. It suits the mood better.
Last night we had dinner at the Methodist church. Wow, can the pastor cook! I guess its true - if you feed them, they will come! We enjoyed ourselves and everybody we met was so kind. They've invited me to join the choir... I think they need to hear me sing first .

There's nothing for young married people in this town. It makes me sad... i think we will have to start something. Maybe something like a support group... I can see it now... "Hello, my name is Sarah, and I'm married (Hello, Sarah)." hm... :)

I finished reading a book today. It's the first book I've read in under 48 hours in a very long time. The Author is named Harlan Coben. It's called "The Woods" and if you like thrillers, this book is for you! It has 405 pages and every one of them is full of twists and turns... there's even a twist on the last page!! The book is about a man named Paul. His sister and three others were killed while at summer camp 20 years ago. One day he gets a visit from two officers asking him to identify a man, a man that Paul believes to be one of the four that disappeared that summer 20 years ago. It's the story of him investigating the disappearances and finding out that not everything is as it seems... its amazing... there are so many aspects and elements to the book that I can't do it justice. I will warn you - Paul is a prosecuting attorney and the case he's working on is a rape case. It's not overly graphic, but a decent portion of the book is about his trial. I loved this book and am going to get another one today. Check back for a review of it by Monday :)

Our computer has crashed, so I will be updating from the Library on days that Jason gives me the car. It's time to start working on our Christmas cards and Christmas letter, not to mention Christmas shopping (I've only picked out one gift - one for my mother! Sorry mom, I can't tell you what it is yet)! How did it get to the end of the year so fast? We're planning a trip to Cheyenne or Denver for my 21st - only 10 days away! AH! Where did this last year go!?

Time to get Jason from work. Will write more Monday :)

Jason's close call

I forgot to write about this one... tehehe.

Jason and I had a heated conversation about concealed weapons. I said that it's concealed if its in the glove box, he said it's only concealed if it's on your body. For some reason we never resolved it and kept packing.

We saw my parents on Thursday night, and as we were getting ready to leave, my dad tells Jason "Listen to everything Sarah has to say, she knows EVERYTHING. And if she doesn't, she knows how to look it up online." LOL... the things my dad comes up with! ;)

Jason was thirsty, so we drove down 2nd street in Nampa... it was about midnight and that's not a very nice area of town. An officer pulled us over because he couldn't see our temporary tags. I opened the glove box and out falls the gun... i could have smacked him! The officer comes up and Jason tells him that there is a gun in the glove box and the officer asks for his carry permit. Jas explains that he doesn't have one, and the officer asks why he's carrying it concealed... then asks us to step out of the car because there's a gun involved.

Now, this is NOT a nice area of town! It's dangerous, there are gangs, and this is the middle of the night. In Idaho you can have all the rifles in the world, but hand guns are a different story, especially with gang violence on the rise (thank you, California!).

The officer runs the cereal number on the gun, runs the plates, checks our licenses... everything comes out clean. We explain that we are moving and he didn't want the gun to get packed or disappear. He says okay, have a nice day, and keep the gun on the dashboard!

Jason's butt should have been thrown in jail! I still tease him about that... if he would have just listened to me! Ugh. Anyway. If you feel so inclied, stop by his facebook and laugh at him :)
Oh my heck!! What an amazing ride this has been! We were supposed to leave on Friday at 4am... we left Boise around 6:30PM!! We drove as far as Evanston, Wyoming, and stayed the night at a Days Inn with the world’s hardest bed! The next morning we drove as far as Rawlins, WY... a terrible place to stop. Our truck started leaking radiator fluid, and badly. We filled it up and drove to Laramie, because the winds were SO strong in Rawlins (50mph+). We arrived in Laramie to find that the radiator had somehow fixed itself... no more fluid leak!!! Praise God!! :)

We then decided to drive the rest of the way to Nebraska, only about 3 hours, but one of our back tires blew out just outside of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming... literally right on the border of Nebraska. We are so thankful that our truck didn’t flip. One broken ratchet later, our tire was changed.

Our house is lovely! Sadie and Zeus have almost 1/2 acre fenced and plenty more space to run and play! The house is beautiful... I’ll be painting the inside walls shortly... pink and blue really aren't my thing! :) Our phone is now hooked up and everything is coming along great!

Sadie and Zeus got out last night and were gone for 4 hours. We searched everywhere but couldn't find them. They showed up around 10:30 with their typical "hi mom, where did you go?" attitudes. Little brats... I was so worried!
We've met both of our neighbors. One lives 1/2 miles north, the other 2 miles south. You can see the wind turbines in Colorado from our house... it’s so beautiful :)

I will update more and post pictures when I can!! :)

And the drama continues...

God must reeeeeeeeeeeeally want us to be in Nebraska, because no matter how many things go wrong, he pulls something out of his hat every time. Moving package won’t come until November... God makes a way for us to get there. Our car won't make it to Nebraska... He provides us with another one. I really want to keep my pups... God makes a way. We need to rent a house for cheap... God gives us a house and 10 acres! I think he loves us!

I will post more later about everything He has done. For now I need to get back to work... ugh. Scan and attach... scan and attach... it seems like the work will never end! :)

Our first day in Kimball

Kimball is a lovely town. The homes are well kept, the locals are insanely friendly, it's clean... we love it so far! We looked at a home for rent that has 4 bedrooms. It has a bathroom upstairs with a tub, but no shower, and a half bath downstairs, and a shower in the basement garage area. It also has a full finished attic. We have a list of about 12 other homes for rent that we're going to check out.

Tomorrow is the company bbq at Clean Harbors and we are invited. We're excited to meet everybody! I will post photos soon!

Love,

Sarah
