Our very first blog! Wahoo!!

Hola!

I'm really not sure what to say on this thing. I suppose I will start out by talking about some of the huge changes taking place in our life right now!

As you have probably heard, since you are reading this blog in the first place, we are in the process of moving to Nebraska. God has very clearly opened doors for us there. Over the past several months, Jason and I have been praying for some very specific things (a pay raise, the ability to live off of one income, a house to rent, and that we can keep our dogs). God has provided every single one of those to us in Nebraska.

On Tuesday, we found out that Jason was being laid off from his job. We were scared, but God has never let us down, and it would be against his character to start doing so now. The company he works for offered us a job in Nebraska, with a significant pay raise and a cost of living nearly half of what it is in Boise. We've been praying, and God has given us both a real peace about this - the same kind of peace that Paul talks about in Philippians 4.

There are still a few details to work out - we don't have an exact departure date and haven’t worked out the exact amount of moving costs the company will cover, but we are trusting the Lord to provide for us in the way he has been. I have no doubt that we will be taken care of!

Another thing that I would like to share is a passage in scripture that God has been putting on my heart all week. It comes from Matthew 6:25-34 (NKJV).

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

God is faithful. And he would not lead us somewhere just to watch us fail. We're sad to leave our friends and family, but we're excited to see what the Lord has in store for us!

Keep reading, there will be more updates to come!
Love,
Sarah and Jason
